Chancellor’s Circle:
Admission to this special group calls for an unrestricted gift of $1,000
or more annually. The collective funds
are used strategically to meet student needs throughout the Alamo Colleges, and
to allow the District to respond quickly as new opportunities emerge. Participants in the group may also serve, on
a voluntary basis, as adjunct advisors to the chancellor, and all Circle donors
are honored annually at a Chancellor’s luncheon.
Current Scholarships: These gifts offer donors
flexibility while providing much needed financial assistance to deserving
students. Directing contributions to the
general scholarship fund is strongly encouraged to serve the greatest number of
students and expedite the awarding process, though criteria for recipients can
be specified. Gifts must be in the
amount of $2,500 (or more) per year.
Endowed Scholarships: Gifts are made to the
Foundation’s endowment, with the “corpus” invested and the interest earned each
year funding the scholarship award.
Generally, scholarship awards are distributed one year after the corpus
is fully funded. A minimum of $20,000 is
required and can be paid over three years (with longer pledge periods available
on request).
