SAC President Re-Launches Weekly Radio Program

As a way to outreach to SAC students, employees and the broader community, Dr. Robert Vela, President of San Antonio College (SAC), re-launched the “Speaking of SAC” radio program this week, after a brief summer hiatus. “Speaking of SAC” is hosted by KSYM’s morning DJ, “Hot Mustard” and informs the audience about current happenings and upcoming events at the College. The show airs live on SAC’s student-run radio station, KSYM 90.1 FM, every Thursday from 8:30 to 9 a.m.  


 

SAC Rolls Out New Strategic Plan for 2016-17

The Integrated Planning and Performance Excellence (IPPE) Department at San Antonio College (SAC) hosted its annual “SAC Scores: Strategic Planning” event to officially launch the College’s strategic plan for 2016-17 academic year. Some 500 faculty and staff gathered in the McAllister Auditorium for a general session and then broke up into various units and departments to discuss unit-specific strategic planning goals, objectives and strategies for continuous improvement.

 

SAC Awarded Scholarship by Baptist Health Foundation

The Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio awarded a $20,000 grant scholarship to San Antonio College (SAC). The gift was presented to SAC President Dr. Robert Vela by Cody S. Knowlton, President and CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio. The grant scholarship funds will support students enrolled in Dental Assisting, EMT-Paramedic, Human Services – Addiction Counseling, Medical Assisting, and Nursing.
