If you have not had an initial Tuition Assistance briefing by your Education Service Office, contact your Base Education Office to set up an appointment to discuss tuition assistance requirements and ensure your eligibility.  You must have an approved degree plan on file (if seeking a degree other than CCAF) to receive TA.

Active duty tuition assistance is approved through your assigned Education Service Office.  TA requests should be made online through your Air Force Portal account at the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) website.

TA requests are made through the GoArmyEd website for all active duty and Reserve members.

Air Force Tuition Assistance request process:

• Enroll for your courses at the Alamo Colleges
• Submit your TA request
• Print and submit a copy of your approved and digitally signed TA form to the Business Office at the college or Alamo College Representative on your installation for processing by your payment deadline.

ADVISORY: TA is not submitted to the college automatically.  Students are responsible for submitting their TA to the college.  Always check your student tuition account balance in your ACES account to confirm TA payment. 

Army Tuition Assistance request process:

• Enroll for your courses at the Alamo Colleges
• Submit your TA request in GoArmyEd, and upload the Alamo Colleges invoice and schedule as well as a signed degree plan from  Alamo Colleges
• It is best practice to do your TA requests four to eight weeks before the course start date
• When you receive an email message your TA requests have been approved,  you must print the TA form from your GoArmyEd account
• Submit a copy of your approved and digitally signed TA form to the Business Office at the college or Alamo College Representative on your installation for processing by your payment deadline.

Changes in Enrollment Affects your
Air Force TA:

Always notify your Base Education Office if you have any changes in enrollments.  Tuition Assistance authorizes payment for only the courses listed on your TA and for the semester dates listed on your TA.

ADVISORY: Changes in enrollment may require a new TA form which must be provided to the college for payment.

Changes in Enrollment Affects your Army TA:

Tuition Assistance authorizes payment for only the courses and specific semester dates listed on your TA.  Any changes in enrollment should be reflected with a new TA request in GoArmyEd.  Questions may be directed to your local installation Education Office.

ADVISORY: Changes in enrollment may require a new TA form which must be provided to the college for payment.
