Services include test administration of the TSI Assessment for college placement and for Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements, CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), and Alamo Colleges Makeup/Distance examinations (with instructor approval and Test Center acknowledgement).  All current and prospective students should be aware that Test Center personnel cannot take responsibility for safeguarding your personal items.  10"x8"x10" lockers are provided  for small items such as phones and small purses.  Backpacks, bags, large purses, or any item that cannot fit into a 10"x8"x10" locker will not be allowed in the Test Center. Please note that the Testing Center has no accommodations for children nor are children under the age of 12 to be left unattended on this campus.

Texas Success Initiative(TSI) Assessment

Texas law requires that you complete assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics before you enroll in college. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) mandates that any new undergraduate student entering a public institution must be assessed for readiness to enroll in college coursework.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Advanced Placement Program (AP)

The Alamo Colleges recognize the credit-granting scores recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). Students can be granted a maximum of 32 hours of non-course based credit (i.e. CLEP and/or AP). No credit will be awarded until the student has successfully completed as least six (6) hours of course credit from any of the Alamo Colleges.

Palo Alto College provides proctoring services for Alamo Colleges Distance Education instructors and their students. Examinations are administered in a secure, proctored environment.

Special Accommodations

Students with a documented disability that need accommodations for TSI, make-up and/or distance testing may contact Disability Support Services (DSS) in advance. For more information regarding documentation requirements, students may call DSS at 210-486-3020.
