An online guide for nursing and healthcare education lists San Antonio College’s dental assisting program as No. 1 in the state of Texas.
The website nursingprocess.org boasts a 10-year history of researching and presenting reports on nursing and health care programs in each state to provide an independent assessment of more than 2,000 colleges, universities, and other institutions, nationally. Its assessment reach more than 100,000 students monthly.
The website considered several factors in creating their rankings, including admissions rate, graduation rate, student-to-faculty ratio and net price. In addition, the website editorial team factored in the overall reputation of the college.
SAC’s dental assisting program is a 12-month, full-time, day program limited to 24 students. Enrollment takes place only at the start of the fall semester. Once students finish the program, they graduate with an associate of applied science and a certificate level 1 degree in dental assisting. The dental assisting program is one of only seven programs in Texas accredited by the American Dental Association.
