Monica Baiza Garcia

Associate Director

About Monica

Monica earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from UTSA and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her passion for working with students started early, from volunteering at summer camps to mentoring younger students.

With over 20 years of experience, Monica has worked with personnel, students, and families in college and area school districts. She also has 20 years of teaching experience at community colleges and universities.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys spending time with her family, biking, swimming, and supporting her children in their activities like orchestra recitals and baseball games.

Melanie Moran

About Melanie

Born and raised in San Antonio, Melanie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005. After college, she spent 20 years in the fine dining industry, gaining 13 years of experience in restaurant management.

In 2018, Melanie shifted to education at IDEA Public Schools and quickly rose to Assistant Principal of Operations. Today, Melanie serves as the Alamo Academies Industry Liaison.

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys road trips with her husband and daughter, hiking, camping, swimming, and spending time with extended family.

About Cynthia

Cynthia, a native of San Antonio, earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has been dedicated to serving the Alamo Colleges District community for nearly a decade. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 31 years, her three children, and her grandchild.

About Armando

Armando, originally from Del Rio, Texas, has called San Antonio home for the past two decades. He attended the Alamo Colleges, earning both an Associates of Science and an Associates of Arts with a focus on science disciplines. 
After graduating from San Antonio College, Armando pursued further education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in science.
