What is the Welding program?

The Welding program prepares students to work in an industry that offers opportunities in manufacturing shops, maintenance shops, steel construction sites, ship-building, oil field operations, and ranch-related welding. Students gain extensive skills through shop activities on industrial welding equipment such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and Oxy-Fuel. The program is certified by the American Welding Society to test for the quality of welds in critical areas such as aircraft welding and manufacturing operations. Here is a list of the tools needed for this program: welding tool list.

What will I learn?

Extensive skills through shop activities on industrial welding equipment such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW.

What can I do with this course of study?

Contractor, Certified Welder, Shop Foreman, Field Foreman, Fitter/Welder, Welder, Welder Helper.

What's special about the program?

The program worked with the American Welding Society (AWS) and became an Accredited Testing Facility (ATF) on November 30, 2010, in response to critical labor shortages and an aging workforce.

The instructional programs can be customized to meet industry demands in specific areas.
