Board of Trustees Elects Officers

At their regular board meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees elected new officers.

District 5 Trustee Roberto Zárate was elected chair. 

District 8 Trustee Clint Kingsbery, who previously served as board secretary, was elected vice chair. District 4 Trustee Dr. Lorena “Lorraine” Pulido is now board secretary and newly re-elected District 2 Trustee Gloria Ray was voted in as assistant secretary.

Each of the officers will serve for two years.

Zárate is a retired educator with more than 36 years experience. He has served on the Alamo Colleges District board since he was appointed to the District 5 seat in August 2003. 

Zárate was elected chair of the Alamo Colleges board from 2006 to 2008, and also has held positions as secretary, vice-chair and chair of Audit, Budget and Finance, Academic Accountability and Student Success committees. 

Kingsbery is a Testing Center Coordinator at Texas A&M University - San Antonio. He previously taught mathematics for the Northside Independent School District and served students at a number of schools for over 13 years.

Dr. Pulido is the communications manager for VIA Metropolitan Transit. She was formerly the public relations manager for the City of San Antonio’s Department of Communications and Public Affairs, and MetroHealth. She is a bilingual public relations expert with more than 25 years of combined experience in the marketing, corporate, and non-profit industries. 

Ray retired from Kelly Air Force Base as a Senior Official after 27 years of service. After retirement, she served her community as a volunteer on various governance boards at the city, county and state levels.
