Talia Christian
Talia Christian is a 2022 Northeast Lakeview College graduate earning her Associate of Art degree. While at NLC, her coursework focused on psychology and philosophy. Highly involved at NLC, she is a Student Ambassador in the Office of the President, Founder & President of the NLC Black Student Union, Alamo Colleges District Student Trustee Alternate, a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and National Society for Leadership & Success, and numerous other student organizations and leadership groups.
Most recently, one of her notable accomplishments was to be one of eight students selected nationally to speak at the (Achieving the Dream) ATD’s 2022 DREAM Conference, inspiring educators across the country. She also volunteered her time serving as the 2021 Boardroom Project Scholar Board member and is currently the COO and Director of Student Relations for the Astrobiology Society of America as well as a member of the Student Advisory Council to the Texas Community College Commission on Finance.
Talia’s next steps are to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an ultimate goal of obtaining an MD and becoming a physician in Psychiatry with a focus on learning disabilities and/or addiction. This summer, Talia will be doing research with the Anesthesiology Department at Emory University through the LGS-SOAR program. Talia also plans to continue serving in Board positions and advocating for students.
