How Long to Earn Your Associate Degree?
It's up to you how long it will take to earn your degree. The more courses you take, the faster you get to the finish line.
EVERY COURSE COUNTS!
Here Are Some Possibilities:
- 2 YEARS if you take 5 courses (15 credit hours) per semester
- 2.5 YEARS if you take 4 courses (12 credit hours) per semester
- 3.5 YEARS if you take 3 courses (9 credit hours) per semester
- 5 YEARS if you take 2 courses (6 credit hours) per semester
- 10 YEARS if you take 1 course (3 credit hours) per semester

Most programs take 60 credit hours to earn your associate degree. Learn more about our programs here.
Check with your advisor to find out how many credit hours you need to graduate.
Note: One class is usually 3 credit hours so you need approximately 20 classes within your degree plan to earn an associate degree.
Consider Flexible Terms to Accelerate Your Time to Degree
Accelerated (Shorter) Terms:
- Flex terms in Fall and Spring – 8 weeks
(utilize two halves of the 16 week semesters!) - Summer terms – 5, 8 and 10 weeks
- Maymester – 3 weeks
- Wintermester – 3 weeks in December
- Summer Momentum
- Online Courses
