Alamo Colleges E-rate now expands to out-of-state residents
November 23, 2020
On Oct. 13, 2020, the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees expanded the E-rate to include out-of-state students taking fully online classes. Effective Spring 2021, students taking fully online courses, who live outside Bexar County in Texas or another state, will be eligible for E-rate tuition. The E-rate price is $170 per credit hour. This reduced rate will reflect on student accounts within 24–48 hours of registration. All other fees and special tuition rates will still apply.
The tuition rate for all Bexar County residents remains at $99 per credit hour.
E-rate does not apply to:
- Face-to-face or remote learning classes
- Hybrid (a combination of face-to-face or remote learning and online) classes
- International students taking fully online classes
E-rate allows the five Colleges in the Alamo Colleges District to provide high-quality education at affordable rates, to provide exceptional value to students, and to increase the number of adults with some college and no degree or those who never tried college who restart or start their path to earning a meaningful credential. It was first approved by the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees in March 2019 and became effective in Fall 2019. For additional information, visit Tuition and Fees.
