Routine Dental Cleaning
Considered to be a normal or routine dental cleaning procedure where there can be no loss of bone, no active bleeding or where the disease process is not active. It is considered to be a more routine procedure.
Deep Cleaning Procedure
Considered to be an advanced cleaning procedure that may require anesthesia. This is a deeper level of a cleaning for the removal of bacteria in order to help eliminate more advanced levels oral disease.
Sealant
A non-invasive method to aid in the prevention of tooth decay in the chewing surfaces of posterior teeth.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride Varnish application that aids in the prevention of dental decay. Topical application of professional strength fluoride in a varnish to strength the teeth.
Comprehensive Oral Evaluation
A thorough examination of all oral structures and head and neck structures for evaluation of any potentially pathologic or disease concerns.
Complete Radiographic (X-ray) Series
Digital x-rays will be exposed based upon the need of the patient to evaluate for dental decay and/or other pathology.
Dental Charting
Evaluation of and Charting of all existing conditions in the oral cavity.
Nutritional Counseling
If existing conditions are present, nutritional counseling may be warranted to evaluate the patient’s current nutritional status as it contributes to oral disease.
Periodontal Charting
Evaluation of all supportive structures of the oral cavity to determine any bone loss and other concerns.
Smoking Cessation
If the patient uses tobacco and has expressed a desire to reduce and/or quit the use of tobacco, a dental hygienist can design a program.
Patient Education
One on One instruction provided by the student to aid the patient in learning more about their current conditions orally. Each patient has unique needs, and the education is tailored specifically for that patient.
Risk Assessment – 3 components
All Risk assessments are evaluated for a patient to determine the anticipated risk of developing the category of the risk disease process.

Head and Neck Cancer Evaluation
Inside and Outside evaluation of all structures for any irregularities that would be consistent with potentially pathologic concerns.
