PAC named National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense
July 17, 2023
The National Security Agency has designated Palo Alto College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD) for its Associate in Cybersecurity. This designation will cover the next five academic years until 2028.
The CAE-CD designation is awarded to regionally accredited academic institutions offering cybersecurity degrees and/or certificates at the associate, bachelor’s, and graduate levels.
The College is growing its reputation in cybersecurity, thanks to its academic programs in this field, which are a step towards ensuring a secure and safe future for Texas and the United States.
PAC’s National Cyber League (NCL) team is fresh off a stellar performance at the Spring National Cyber League competition. The team placed 48th in the experienced category of the National Cyber League’s power rankings for Spring 2023, making them one of seven community colleges in the top 50 nationwide.
The Cybersecurity program at PAC also acquired a Program of Study Validation from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Program of Study Validation, in partnership with the National Security Agency, in November of last year.
Palo Alto College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Cyber Defense and Operations with in-person or online options. For more information about Palo Alto College’s Computer Sciences and Technology programs, visit alamo.edu/pac/computer-science.
