Semester Honors

President’s List:

The President’s List is the way San Antonio College chooses to honor students who have earned semester honors.

Qualifications to be on the President’s List are as follows:

  • 4.00 GPA or above in SAC Hours in a given a semester a minimum of 6 hours taken at SAC.
  • Courses that begin with a "0" are not included in the GPA calculations or in the hours.
  • Students on the President’s List must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • There is no President’s List for summer semesters.

Beginning Fall 2022 and for future terms, President’s List honorees will no longer be published on the SAC webpage.

 

Dean's List:

The Dean's List is the way San Antonio College chooses to honor students who have earned semester honors.

Qualifications to be on the Dean's List are as follows:

  • 3.5 GPA or above in SAC Hours in a given a semester a minimum of 6 hours taken at SAC.
  • Courses that begin with a "0" are not included in the GPA calculations or in the hours.
  • Students on the Dean's List must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • There is no Dean's List for summer semesters.

Beginning Fall 2022 and for future terms, Dean's List honorees will no longer be published on the SAC webpage.

 

Honor's Graduates:

Graduating students who meet qualifications for honors are invited to attend a special reception at the end of each Spring semester. Qualifying students will receive a personal invitation to the event.

Qualifications to be invited to the reception are as follows:

  • Student must be graduating in Fall or Spring of the particular academic year.
  • Student must have a 3.5 or above cumulative SAC GPA.
  • Students with a 4.0 cumulative SAC GPA will receive additional recognition at the event.
  • Courses that begin with a "0" are not included in the GPA calculations or in the hours.

 

Distinguished Graduates:

This initiative spotlights each SAC academic program during our annual commencement ceremony by honoring one outstanding student from each of those programs called the "Distinguished Graduate." Selected students receive special recognition at the ceremony by wearing a cord signifying their Distinguished Graduate status. 

Students are required to apply and selected students must complete service projects for the department and/or the college designed to promote graduation.

Criteria to Apply for the Distinguished Graduate Program (departments may add to these criteria): 

  • Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
  • Student must attend the graduation commencement ceremony in May.
  •  Student must participate in events to promote graduation.
