The Bookkeeping Specialist, A.A.S., introduces students to basic accounting, the steps of the accounting cycle, industry standard accounting system software, spreadsheet development and payroll accounting for candidates seeking a bookkeeping clerical position: Bookkeeping Specialist, Bookkeeper Assistant, Billing Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, Payroll Specialist or Payroll Clerk. Emphasis is on a small business setting and workforce preparation skills.

Basic accounting, the steps of the accounting cycle, industry standard accounting system software, spreadsheet development, and payroll accounting.

What's special about the program?
Note: The A.A.S. does not transfer to a 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration degree in “Accounting.” Students seeking a 4 year B.B.A. degree in “Accounting” must follow Associate of Arts, Business Administration: Pre-Major “Accounting.” The A.A.S. transfers to a B.A.A.S. workforce credit degree with “Business emphasis,” not “Accounting” major at Texas A&M SA.
