Upcoming Events

Voice for Stage Workshop

Vincent Hardy will conduct a Voice for Stage Workshop on November 9 at the Watson Fine Arts Center, room 103 from 11 AM – 2 PM.  The workshop is for high school-age students primarily but anyone may attend.

Hardy has a unique approach to Voice for Stage.  In this workshop students will learn the mechanics of breathing and vocal support, producing correct vowel and consonant sounds, and finally the application of these skills to conveying meaning using text.  He believes these components taught in one workshop are unique.  Of course, one can only master these skills through practice over time but the Workshop will serve as a foundational step towards mastery.

Hardy is a graduate of Cornell University, having earned an MFA in Acting.  He has appeared in 70 productions, directed 40, and taught Voice for Stage and Acting at Cornell, City College of New York, and St. Philips College

The Workshop will cost ten dollars. The monies collected will be used to fund scholarships for students studying Drama at SPC.  The Workshop will be limited to about 30 participants.  To hold your spot email vhardy@alamo.edu.  You will be sent a registration form.  If you have questions please email him or call 210 486-2838.
