What will I learn in Sociology?
Sociology courses include content that requires psychological, emotional, and intellectual maturity. Content includes social injustices related to race, class, and gender. Sociology courses involve the study and informed discussion of topics such as sexuality, deviance, and drug use/abuse. All sociology courses at St. Philip’s College are designed for college students—the same content and rigor as courses at 4-year colleges and universities.
What can I do with my Sociology A.A. Degree?
Sociology is a pre-major, designed for transfer to a 4-year college or university. Most of our sociology students transfer to UTSA or Texas State. St. Philip’s has online advising guides for every transfer college or university.
