Cyber Tigers

The Cyber Tigers of St. Philips College are a group of students who are interested in all things technology.  The Cyber Tigers compliment their studies of networking, Microsoft applications, Linux, and security to form a unique club that helps channel school work into real work scenarios and experiences.  The Cyber Tigers take part in IT conferences, inter-collegiate competitions and help spread the word about the wonderful opportunities available in IT through STEM events.

Panopoly

 

Panoply, a Network Security Competition, is a network assessment and network defense competition combined into a single event. Teams of students compete for control of common resources and the critical services on those resources. Once a team takes possession of a resource, they must secure that resource against attacks from other teams and maintain the critical services running on the resource. Teams accumulate points for controlling and operating critical services such as SMTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, and so on. Read more

3rd Annual Texas Security Awareness Week (TexSAW) Competition

The hands-on fundamental development workshop and competition requires no prior cybersecurity knowledge. The workshop provides opportunities to meet students from other Texas universities interested in cybersecurity. Read more

4th Annual Texas Security Awareness Week Competition (TexSAW)

Computer security is a rapidly growing, incredibly diverse field. As technology continues to pervade our society, it is critical that all the information it carries is protected. UT Dallas’ Cyber Security Research and Education Institute is pleased to host the 4th Annual Texas Cyber Security Awareness Week (TexSAW) event. This year’s event aims to reach out to students who are interested in pursuing computer security. Students will be exposed to security concepts which will expand their knowledge of computing and broaden their career opportunities. Read more
