Graduate Spotlight: Breonna Stimpson-Leavitt
November 15, 2024
St. Philip’s College student Breonna Stimpson-Leavitt will walk across the stage at the Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony. Through her involvement in the college’s Project SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience), a paid internship program in partnership with CIMA-LSAMP, Breonna participated in a research study on caterpillars.
Her time at St. Philip's College has been defined by her drive to build a future in science and make lasting connections. "I knew St. Philip's College was where the career-driven people were, those who weren’t messing around with college and had a goal in mind," she said. "That’s what I wanted— to be involved in academics and career-oriented things to build my résumé. I know the connections I’ve built while at SPC will continue after graduation."
As a National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) member, Breonna wants to leave a lasting legacy. "I want to be remembered for making a positive impact. Everywhere I go, I want to make things better," she said.
After graduating with her Associate of Science this December, Breonna will continue her academic journey at Texas A&M Galveston, where she will study marine biology. Whether through research or community involvement, Breonna is committed to making a difference.
Congratulations Breonna!
