SPC Staff Recognized as Districtwide Employee of the Month
March 20, 2025
Alexandra "Sasha" Wilhelm, Director of the Student Advocacy Center at St. Philip's College (SPC), was honored as the Districtwide Employee of the Month at the college's Board Meeting on Feb. 25, 2025.
Since December 2019, she has led the Student Advocacy Center and has an extensive background in social work and counseling. Prior to joining SPC, she worked at the University of the Incarnate Word, Bexar County Juvenile Probation, Child Protective Services, and various mental health agencies, hospitals, and educational institutions. She is a licensed baccalaureate social worker and a licensed professional counselor-supervisor.
Sasha holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Counseling, with a concentration in Marriage & Family Therapy, from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She has also completed 60 doctoral hours in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Sasha is a passionate advocate for student well-being, championing a “Students First” mindset at SPC, which she believes should be broadened to a “People First” philosophy. Her dedication and strong work ethic are inspired by the starfish parable, "It makes a difference to this one," which underscores her deep commitment to creating a positive impact in the lives of others.
“Even if you positively impact just one person’s life, you’ve still made a world of difference,” she said.
