Transfer to UTSA

As part of a shared commitment to student success, the Alamo Colleges District and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) have multiple partnerships to make transferring as seamless as possible.

The opportunities listed below make up a collaborative student support system, saving students money and reducing the time it takes to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Students who want to transfer to UTSA can make sure the courses they take at the Alamo Colleges will seamlessly transfer by following a Transfer Advising Guide (TAG).

These guides create a clear path that ensures all classes transfer and count toward the student’s four-year degree program at UTSA.

Promise-to-Promise

AlamoPROMISE is a program that covers the full cost of tuition and required fees for new graduates from participating high schools seeking an academic certificate or associate degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges.

Promise to Promise allows eligible students to start at any of the five Alamo Colleges and then transfer to UTSA to complete a four-year degree while having educational costs covered at both institutions.

The Promise-to-Promise program encourages Alamo Colleges students who meet certain eligibility criteria to transfer to UTSA and have tuition and mandatory fees covered for up to four consecutive fall and spring semesters through the UTSA Bold Promise program.

Alamo Runners

The Alamo Runner program is a co-enrollment opportunity between the Alamo Colleges District and UTSA. The program supports students who were admitted to UTSA during a fall or spring semester but instead enrolled at one of the five Alamo Colleges.

This opportunity provides access to the four-year experience and all of the benefits that go with it, all for the same cost of taking a class with Alamo College.

Alamo OnTRAC

On-TRAC (Transitioning Roadrunners at Alamo Colleges) is a program for first-time freshman students who apply to UTSA but may not qualify for guaranteed admission into UTSA.

Three-tier Transfer

This program will create a seamless pipeline for students from partnering high schools to the Alamo Colleges to UTSA.

Early College High School programs will align designated pathways and students will be advised to follow the seamless transfer as outlined within the respective ACD-UTSA TAG.

This will allow students to earn college credits at the Alamo Colleges that will transfer and apply toward a bachelor’s degree from UTSA.
