Anna U. Bustamante currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Alamo Colleges and previously served as Secretary of the Board, representing District 3 in San Antonio. She is a life-long resident of San Antonio and is a graduate of Southside High School. Bustamante holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Music and a Master of Science in Educational Administration, both from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She also holds a Bilingual/ESL endorsement from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has been an educator in the Southside ISD for the past 33 years and is currently a music teacher at Southside High School where she teaches classical guitar and serves as director of the SHS Mariachi and the Conjunto Cardenales musical performance groups. She takes pride in her role as an advocate for providing students with opportunities to contribute positively to the community. She enjoys her active involvement in various educational associations, fundraising and volunteer work throughout the community, as well as serving as the choir director at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for the past 39 years.
