To direct and coordinate all financial transactions within the accounting system of the Alamo Colleges;
To improve continuously its effectiveness in processing financial transactions in a timely manner;
Provide accounting, financial management reporting and financial system training;
Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget;
Invest long and short-term cash reserves to maximize return and minimize risk;
Work with external auditors to ascertain that public funding is being obtained in accordance with state, federal and local regulations;
Work with external financial institutions in the management of fiscal resources;
Implement systems of internal controls to safeguard the assets of the district; and
Through periodic reporting, keep various constituencies informed of the financial condition of the Alamo Colleges.
