What is the program?

This program gives you the knowledge and skills to enter the legal field as a paralegal, assisting attorneys in trial preparation, legal research and other areas of law.

What will I learn?

<pYou’ll develop a broad-based understanding of law and the courtroom. You’ll learn legal terminology and how to understand and draft legal documents, interview clients and conduct relevant research. Courses will cover a variety of legal areas, including family law, civil litigation, elder law, estate law, torts, contracts and personal injury law, criminal law, contracts and legal ethics. The program includes a 30-hour internship where you’ll gain hands-on experience in a law office or similar legal organization.

What can I do with this course of study?

Once you earn your degree in Paralegal Studies, you can pursue a variety of entry-level legal careers under the direct supervision of an attorney.

Experienced lawyers and paralegals teach the classes in this program. You’ll learn from experts as you prepare for this high-demand career. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects a 14% growth rate for paralegal and legal assistant jobs through 2031 due to increased demand for more cost-effective legal services. Paralegals can specialize in different types of law, such as immigration, real estate, family, etc.
