Walking tour of SAC and surrounding area including San Pedro Park and Main Street given by Melissa Gohlke. On this walking tour, Gohlke will infuse the experience of contemporary landscape with stories about the area’s evolution as the locus of counterculture, gay liberation, and the establishment of queer turf over decades. Participants will explore the importance of specific sites such as San Pedro Park, San Pedro Avenue, and Main Street within the context of the expansion and development of San Antonio’s queer community. A brief presentation on the SAC campus will kick off the event and a tour map and zine will be available for participants. This tour is the first of its kind!
