Why did you decide to pursue a career in higher education?
As a first-generation college student, I faced many challenges as I struggled to navigate college. It was an isolating experience until I was able to connect with faculty and staff who supported me. Working in higher education has offered me the opportunity to help students who come from similar backgrounds as they navigate their own educational journeys. I represent the reality that people can defy odds through educational advancement and succeed no matter what they face.

I sing in a Christian band called The Levites, and enjoy traveling to different parts of the country and world to perform.
