Please see below the types of advising services offered and in what format. Dates and times may vary, therefore we recommend you check for updates often. 

Drop-In & Online Chat Advising Sessions

Winter Break 2024 Services


Essential Services will be available: Thursday, Friday, and Monday, December 26, 27, and 30, from 9am-2pm***

***Essential Services encompass enrollment, registration, advising, financial aid, and business services and will be offered in-person (in Desert Willow Weclcome Center room 120) and virtual (via Zoom at this link).

Spring 2025

Northwest Vista College, including Advising Services will reopen on January 2nd 2025. 

 

Quick Advising Sessions!

Chat and Drop-In advising sessions will be available for current NVC students who are in need of quick assistance (average 15-20 minutes). Both options are available for students who need the following quick advising services:

  • Prerequisite Overrides
  • Assistance with identifying resources to support your success
  • Assistance in completing Change of Primary Institution to Northwest Vista College
  • Completing a SAP appeal for students not yet assigned a certified academic advisor
  • Review of Course Program of Study (CPOS) for financial aid purposes
  • Assistance with ACES navigation
  • Information on how to Complete the Academic Dismissal Process

Online Chat:

Virtual quick advising will be available at the following times:

  • Thursday, January 2nd: 1:00pm-9:00pm
  • Friday, January 3rd: 9:00am-5:00pm

(Note: Due the the high volume of chats received, there may be a wait in speaking with an advisor via chat.)

Drop In Advising: 

Quick in-person advising will be available at the following times:

  • Thursday, January 2nd: 9:00am-7:00pm 
  • Friday, Janury 3rd: 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Saturday, January 4th: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Please note: Drop in advising will be quick, and spots may be limited.

Wait times may very based on student traffic and advisor availability.
