How do I see an academic advisor?

Please see below the types of advising services offered and in what format. Dates and times may vary, therefore we recommend you check for updates often. 

Drop-In & Online Chat Advising Sessions

Spring 2024 Services

Chat and Drop in advising sessions will be available for current NVC students who are in need of quick assistance (average 15-20 minutes). Both options are available for students who need the following quick advising services:

  • Assistance with general Advising questions
  • Prerequisite Overrides
  • Assistance with identifying resources to support your success
  • Assistance in completing Change of Primary Institution or Change or Program/Field of Study requests
  • Assistance with ACES navigation
  • Information on how to Complete the Academic Dismissal Process

 

Online Chat: 

  • Monday, April 29th         6:00pm - 9:30pm
  • Wednesday, May 1st     2:00pm - 5:00pm 
  • Thursday, May 2nd        9:00am - 12:00pm  & 6:00pm - 9:30pm

(Note: Due the the high volume of chats received, there may be a wait in speaking with an advisor via chat.) 

 

Drop In Advising: 

Drop-in advising offers students the ability to meet in person with an Advisor, Peer Advisor, or Advising Support Specialist for brief advising guidance (15 minutes).

  • Tuesday, April 30th    9:00am - 12:00pm
  • Thursday, May 2nd   2:00pm - 4:00pm

Advising appointments will be required for the following:

  • Creating an Individual Success Plan/ Updating your ISP
  • Degree Audits
  • Degree/Career Planning
  • Transfer Advising
  • Graduation Applications
  • PIN Release 
  • Financial Aid Appeals (during appeal period only)
  • Academic Dismissal Advising (during petitioning periods only)
