Academic Advising

Advising services are offered to current NVC students in various formats throughout the year. Dates and times may vary, therefore we recommend checking here for weekly updates.

Your assigned academic advisor will send weekly emails to your ACES student email with information on contacting and scheduling an advising appointment. For assistance, see How to Schedule an Advising Appointment Quick Guide. Advising appointments with your assigned academic advisor are recommended for the following services:

• • Full degree planning through completion
  • Change of Pre-Major (COM) 
  • Degree Audits
  • Financial Aid Appeal/Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals
  • Mandatory Academic Standing, Academic Probation check-ins

On Campus Drop-In Advising 

Current NVC students are welcome to visit advising inside Desert Willow Welcome Center 202R (DWWC 202R) for drop-in advising during the hours listed below. Please note that spots may be limited and wait times vary based on student traffic and advisor availability. For full degree planning assistance, please schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor via ACES, Navigate.

Online Advising Chat

Virtual Drop-In Advising

To ensure a secure and personalized experience, current NVC students must use their authenticated Zoom account to access the link for Virtual Advising drop-in sessions via Zoom. Spots may be limited and wait times vary based on student traffic and advisor availability. How to join:

1. 1. Make sure you are logged in to your authenticated Zoom account.
   2. Click the NVC Advising Zoom Link to join the drop-in session.
   3. Wait in the virtual lobby until a team member is available. Please have your Student Banner ID ready.

Note: Services may conclude once capacity is reached for the day. Only authenticated Zoom users with a valid Alamo Colleges email address will be allowed access.
